Dates use each event’s UTC peak, not a local date. A meteor shower peak that falls on one UTC date can land on a different local date. It may fall the evening before, or the morning after, in your own time zone. Open the guide for the conversion and a fuller local-evening window.
What each guide actually answers
Every page on this list states the peak instant in UTC and where on Earth the event is visible. Each says what a beginner will and will not see, by eye and through binoculars. Each also gives the Moon’s phase that night, because moonlight decides how many meteors you actually see.
Each eclipse guide repeats its own safety rules in full rather than assuming you already read them elsewhere. Each meteor guide names its primary source and says plainly when that source could not be re-checked live.
None of these pages predicts weather, promises a specific meteor count, or replaces a detailed path map for eclipse travel. They are a starting point for planning, not a guarantee of what you will see.
After an event has passed
A page keeps its year in the title once its date has passed. It is never silently rewritten for the next occurrence. The 2026 Orionids and the 2027 Orionids, when that page exists, will be two separate pages.
If you land here after an event, look near the bottom of each guide. Its “next time” note points to the following occurrence, where one is already dated.
What is not on this list yet
SkyLumi’s dated event calendar does not yet cover every 2026–2027 sky event. Planet oppositions, a supermoon, occultations, and several later 2027 meteor showers are still being verified against their primary sources. This page will grow as more pages are added, always to their own dated guide rather than a bundled note.
Equinoxes and solstices are seasonal markers rather than observing events, so this calendar does not carry a page for them.
